New England Doggie Road Trip

Sitting on the deck writing, I can hear a bird trill to his friends. It’s melodic, like an invitation to come hang out together. A bumble bee has taken a liking to my hat. I resist the impulse to swat it away and instead hold my breath and let it buzz around the brim. The sun has broken through the clouds, bringing to light the abundance of greenery around me. We waded into the Atlantic Ocean this morning before breakfast. We have picked a hiking trail to visit this afternoon. Life is a bowl of clam chowder!

Today we are in Falmouth, Maine. Last week we walked the streets of Mystic, Connecticut and, yes, ate at the famous Mystic Pizza.

We are on a three-week East Coast road trip with Holly our grand-doggie while Julian and Mariya are out of the country. Our plans are flexible. The agenda is exploration and enjoying seaside communities with an abundance of hiking trails. We haven’t run into any issues finding nice dog-friendly Airbnb’s at the last minute. It helps that we are just ahead of the busy summer months. Yesterday we found a cute cottage listing on Quaddick Lake in Connecticut for four nights complete with kayaks and a fire pit so locked it in for next week.

We like to stay in one location a minimum of three nights, but usually four or five. I love this age of travel and accumulating memories.

Tiny Travel Tales is about getting out and breathing in the moments.

I will add some travel info in another post in case you ever come this way.
